Very nice place, run by nice, welcoming, passionate and knowledgeable people. We really enjoyed a guided tour and picnicking! Not only for kids! Thank you

Even without kids I had an absolute blast here! This place is definitely fun for all ages! I didn’t really know what to expect when I went but it was 100% worth the trip! Plan on doing some walking (just like in the “old days”)! There’s so much history to learn here and many interactive exhibits! I went on a slow day when there weren’t many staff members but it was great regardless! I can’t wait to come back and bring my husband along with me!

There was insufficient food in the market section. The farm covers a very large area. It is impossible for the elderly to walk everywhere. I wish there was a trailer for the farm tour. Other than that, the historical houses were nice. 3 of them were closed. We couldn't visit them. We went to the office and paid for two adult entrance tickets. But many people did not go to the office and pay for the ticket.

I was having a hard time knowing what to expect from the website and the few reviews I read. Attempting to describe our fun experience. We visited here early October so it was still a bit warm. There is a lot of walking involved if you want to see all of the cottages on the farm as you follow along a trail. There is a map you can take a picture of at the front but I didn’t find it super helpful as the numbers don’t map well to the various cottages / structures you see on the property. Take plenty drinking water. Each cottage you visit is setup with an 1800s theme. Old style living rooms, bedrooms, kitchen outside separated from the house, bathroom outside, wells, storage sheds buried half way under the ground. There are animal coups spread through the property. We visited close to Halloween so lots of pumpkins decorations. In short, there is a lot to do here if you like adventure and history. We didn’t do the narrated tour but I bet that 1.5 hour tour would be super Interesting. We passed on that assuming our 4.5 year old would want to deviate from the tour.. We plan to come back later in the month to experience pumpkin nights which happens each day of the week except Tuesdays. Sounds like a fun festival in the park with a lots of lights decorated across the park, food trucks and pumpkins carvings.

My son and I had an amazing time during the blacksmithing 101 class. Ken is an incredible teacher - very patient and explains techniques thoroughly. Can't wait to take the more advanced classes!

We just loved this place so much!!! Animals are beautiful! It was very affordable. But the day we went it was a little slow. There was only one class going on, so I'm glad it caught the nephews attention: a Blacksmith workshop. They were making knives and tomahawks! So very cool. We loved all the animals and had a very nice time. Some things to add, more people dressed in appropriate time period clothing, teaching things like ice cream making, sewing, stacking wood, building a fence, egg gathering, lots of ideas, and people could sign up online for classes and pay small fees to do one or two, or buy a day pass to do all of them getting one or two free. Would be GREAT!!!

Great location, Austin Celtic festival was nice. Rory was lovely! Just wish someone had figured out a way to get some real food there, rather than corn dogs and fritto pies!😉 The Irish wolfhound's were AWESOME!🐕 …

This was the perfect socially distant adventure. The general store had a few fun selections of snacks, books, and more. We had a chance to talk to some of the staff who shared some great stories with us. This cute property tucked in a quaint neighborhood felt like escaping the city, but without the drive. I loved getting a chance to learn and see some of the history of Texas, and Austin. While all of homes and displays were nice, my favorite part was the beautiful grounds and trail near Walnut Creek. The tall oak tree had such a great atmosphere, I could walk around there all day. What a nice escape. Recommend coming with a friend or two, bring good walking shoes, and a camera and explore.
